In the year 1640 the widow Kerstin Pedersdotter in Agnäs sold fields of corn for 37 dlr kmt to the Finn Pål Pålsson (born about 1590) from Viksjö Finnmark. He arrived with his wife and adult children to Agnäs about 1638. The old Pål Pålsson´s wife died in 1645. The lay assessors confirmed in 1647 (DB 1647 6/12 § 7) that Pål Pålsson during 8 years has paid taxes for 15 seland (1 sel = about 3500 square metres) and during 3 years for 12 seland. At the same district-court sessions Pål decides to pay to his neighbour Per Mattsson 60 dlr kmt for the land in Agnäs that Per has used during 22 years but never paid any taxes for. Per Mattsson has to leave his farm and try to find another place of residence. It is possible that Pål Pålsson is the son of Påål Finn, who is mentioned in Gudmundrå 1595 and in Viksjö 1596. A number of Finns in this area sent a petition to the administrative court of appeal. They point out that their farms are situated high up under the mountains and that the Lapps cause them great problems on the land as well as in the fishing-grounds. If the Finns try to prevent the Lapps from causing the problems, the Lapps "threaten to murder and kill them, which also has happened in times past". Olof Mattson was as early as in 1648 elected to the panel of lay assessors, which had 12 members. Olof Mattsson moves in 1649 to Mullsjö to cultivate 12 seland (1 sel = about 3500 square metres) waste there. His son Matts has already in 1655 taken over the farm in Mullsjö. Gothe writes in his book (page 222) the following about Måns Olofsson, the son of Olof Mattsson. At the district-court session 1674 in Ramsele they were informed about a human image. The Finn Peder Larsson in Rörström (who was father-in-law to ID 265 in her first marriage and who is further treated under ID 264) has with two men present accused the Finn Måns Olufson in Hoting, that he has done three gods of wood. They are carved out of aspen and he goes down on his knees to them. It is not an idolatry. But it is said that Måns Olufson, when he feels angry with a person he drives a nail into the breast of the wooden god. The adversary will be ill if he drives in half the nail. But if he drives the nail to the head of the nail the adversary will die. The county sheriff and some witnesses have in the forest found an aspen in which a human image has been carved. But Måns swore that he has never idolized or used this image with malicious intent. The Finn Per Larsson, who has reported Måns, excuses himself by saying that he is very old (90 years) and that his son Isak Pederson in Hafsnäs is ignorant. Per asks of forgiveness. He is fined three marks for incorrect stating. A local Sourceser has shown that Måns Olufson in Hoting is the first known ancestor of the clergyman family Björkquist, to which also the bishop Manfred Björkquist belongs. If this is true is the father of Måns Olufsson that is Olof Mattson the first known ancestor of Manfred Björkquist. Children:
