Menker: Nordantjäl 28 (Father 822; Mother 823) Go to the descendant chart Hindric Carlsson was farmer in Viken until 1712 and then in Nordantjäl in the parish of Ramsele. He quarrelled at the 1699 and 1700 years district-court sessions about 6 3/4 seland (1 sel = about 3500 square metres) that Elias Sjulsson (ID:542) had sold to Jon Olofsson in Nyland. Elias Sjulsson was the grandfather of Hindrics wife Barbro Nilsdotter. The farm was, however, adjudged to the grandchildren of Jon Olofsson. At the 1701 district-court sessions he made complaints that his neighbour Mats Eliasson did not want to exchange field allotments with him. Mats answered that Henrik had not taken care of his allotments as carefully as he had. The court decided that an exchange should occur when both the allotments were equally well cultivated. At the 1702 district court sessions Per Andersson in Nyland tried to be allowed to bye part of the farm in Viken where Henrik Carlsson then lived. But the court said no. The father of Per, Anders Persson, had on the 5th of May in 1681 sold this ground to his sister Märta Persdotter and her husband Nils Eliasson. As they were parents-in-law to Henrik Per Andersson could not claim redemption of the ground. Hindric Carlsson was in the year 1703 condemned to pay a fine of 3 rd to the church and the poor. He had namely beaten the son of his neighbour Mats Eliasson one blow with a stick. On the 6th of March 1712 Henrik Carlsson exchanged his farm in Viken (6 1/3 seland) against the farm of Johan Larsson in Nordantjäl (6 3/4 seland). Henrik had to pay 85 daler copper coin in addition. At the 1713 district-court sessions Henrik, who now lived at Nordantjäl, quarrelled with Johan Larsson, now living in Viken, about the exchange of farms. Henrik argued that he had been deceived, as the farm in Nordanåker was badly cultivated. He therefor wanted to revoke the exchange. The court, however, decided that the exchange should remain but that Johan Larsson should pay 15 daler copper coins to Henric in compensation for the inferior arable land in Nordantjäl. At the 1718 district-court sessions the exchange of farms between Henrik Carlsson and Johan Larsson was finally decided. In the year 1717 Henrik Carlsson was responsible for the counting of tithes At the 1733 district-court sessions the vicar Samuel Zellinger appealed that Henrik Carlsson had not arranged so that his son Karl Henriksson, who already was 20 years old, could read a book or learn his scripture. Henrik excused himself on the grounds that his son had a bad intellect and that he could not understand what he was learned. Henric also said that he next autumn intended to send the son to a school, either in Härnösand or Åsele. Bef 1699 Hindric married Barbro Nilsdotter, IX:230. They had the following children:
