128 Nils Eriksson, VIII:1. Sources: Strömsboken, Näset 5 and 4 Georg Hansson, Näset 4 and 3 (Father 256; Mother 257) Go to the descendant chart It is noted that Nils Eriksson was a sixman. This was a commission of trust within the church. He should supervise the church discipline. He was also member of the parish court and should check up the reports of the churchwardens. The harvest on Näset the year 1701 amounted to 280 shocks of barley, 10 shocks of rye and 10 of peas. The test threshing gave per shock for barley 3,5 kappar (1 kappe = 4,58 litres), for rye 4 kappar and for peas 2 kappar. Erik Nilsson is found in the 1713 years Judgement book. This year they inspected on which farm it was suitable to build a new soldier's cottage. They found that Näset was the best choice. Nils Eriksson, however, said that it was out of the question to build the cottage at Näset. But the lieutenant who took part in the meeting claimed that it was possible and asked that this should be noted in the minutes of the meeting. It is not clear whether the cottage was built. But in the minutes is also written that Nils Eriksson "is a man of means although he claims that he is poor". That the financial position of Nils Eriksson is good is also clear from a problem at a farm on Öhn The widow Gunilla (ID 273) of the farmer Erik Nilsson on Öhn intended to leave the farm to the son Olof. But he could not afford to take over the farm. The reason was among other things that they had a debt of 15 plåtar owing to Nils Eriksson. Nils Eriksson leaves, because of high age and poor health the farm in the year 1719 to the second son Swän. But it is first in the year 1730 that Swän gets the certificate of registration title to the farm. The farm had a value of 120 Daler silver coins at the distribution of the estate. Nils had 8 sons and 2 daughters. The claims Nils had amounted totally to 273 Daler silver coins. This shows that Nils was a man of means. At the spring district court sessions in 1734 Nils Eriksson proposes that the farm should be divided between the sons Swän and Nils. The reason was that Swän could not alone manage the farm. Swän, however, did not accept this division. He referred to the Court decision of 1730 concerning the distribution of the estate. As no application for a summons had been submitted concerning this decision the Court could not treat the new proposal of Nils Eriksson. On 4 Nov 1694 Nils married Brita Swensdotter, VIII:2. They had the following children:

Sources: Strömsboken, Öhn 157 Georg Hansson, Öhn 21 and 22 (Father 260; Mother 261) Go to the descendant chart In the decades 1740 and 1750 the sons of Mårten Andersson owned three of the five farms on Öhn. After the dragoon of the farm in 1718 had died in a drowning-accident the farmer himself Mårten Andersson had to be dragoon some years before his son Anders in January 1722 could replace him. Owing to high age and frailness Mårten Andersson left the farm in the year 1730 to the oldest son Anders. The value of the farm was then estimated to be 95 Dlr S:mt. The parents kept 32 Dlr Smt . Each brother got 10 Dlr 16 öre Smt and each sister 5 Dlr 8 öre Smt. In 28 Oct 1700 Mårten married Märeta Jönsdotter, VIII:4. They had the following children:

Sources: Georg Hansson, Havsnäs 8 R. Gothe, Finnkolonisationen, pages 185 and 225. (Father 264; Mother 265) Go to the descendant chart The land-surveyor Spole gives the following description to a map-sketch: "Zakris Larsson lives at Holmen, which was a new settlement since about 20 years. It is now taxed for 1 1/2 acre or 1/4 mantal. The arable land consists of good frostless clay soil. Very little lies fallow. It is possible to increase the area of arable land. A small hop-garden has been built." The son Pär Zakrisson has worked at a farmer on Öhn, Ström. There he married in 1726 and then they moved to Ringvattnet in the Finnmark of Ström. When the father Zakris Larsson "felt frail of rupture" (The Judgement book of 1735) – he is then a little more than 60 years old – he wants to leave the farm to the son Per as he has some time helped the father with the work on the farm. At the district court sessions in 1736 the brothers Zakris and Per declared that Per was prepared to give Zakris the new settlement in Ringvattnet and that Zakris accepted that the father wanted to leave the farm on Holmen to Per. But the third brother Lars did not want to accept this solution. At the district court sessions in 1737 it was clear that Lars can take over the farm on Holmen if he pays 40 dlr s:mt to Per and also promises to take care of his parents until they die. At the same meeting Lars also asks for permission to change the situation of the farm from being a crown-farm to a tax-farm. The Government owns a crown-farm and it is not obviously that one of the children will be allowed to take over such a farm. But the farmer owns a tax-farm, which means that the children will always inherit this. On the 15th of March 1759 Lars paid 90 dlr s:mt to get the farm changed from a crown-farm to a tax-farm. After the death of Maria Persdotter Zakris remarried in 1747 to the maid Mereta Jonsdotter from Tullingsås. A morning gift of 30 lod silver was given In 23 Oct 1704 Zakris married Märta Persdotter, VIII:6. They had the following children:

Jon Persson exchanged farm with Hindrik Mickelsson, who had just bought Gärde number 2 from Erik Olofsson Buller (Siljeåsen number 1). The date of death is not known for Jonas. But we know that it is before 1768. After the death of Brita Jonsdotter Jon remarried on the 19th of April 1731 to Anna Jönsdotter, who was born in Gärde, Ström and died on the 14th of April 1769. They had one son Jöns, born on the 6th of January 1733. In 18 Oct 1703 Jon married Brita Jonsdotter, VIII:8. They had the following children:

According to the decision of the district court on the 23rd of October 1710 "this farm with all its possessions should for ever belong to Olof Andersson and his wife". Olof Andersson is said to be 56 years in the 1740 years register of the Church. He is noted as death in the land register of 1764. On 26 Dec 1710 Olof married Karin Persdotter, VIII:16, in Hammerdal. Sources: Georg Hansson, Öhn 5 Thord Bylund; the genealogical database "Angur" (Father 296, Mother 297) Go to the descendant chart Öman got soldier in 1692 after that the inhabitant of Östergötland Jeremias Olofsson Swahn, who was the dragoon of the farm on the 1680 decade, was dismissed. The reasons were frailness and age. In the list, which was made when the company of the Mayor was collected in Hammerdal on the 8-11 of October 1706, is said for dragoon number 120: "Lars Mickelsson Öhman is Jämtlander. He is sick, lying at home and has cut his leg. Scarves and gloves are missing. His jacket is very worn out." Lars Öman served in the fatal campaign of Armfelt against Norway. He was frozen to death in the mountains when the army withdrew in January 1719. His wife Ingeborg stays at the farm as domestic servants. She has some cows and some goats and sheep as a support. The farmer Olof Ersson was himself dragon of the farm after Lars Öman. In the list of 1721 is written; "Keeps guard of the redoubt of Cronstad". On 29 Dec 1707 Lars married Ingeborg Eriksdotter, VIII:22. They had the following children:
