SCB (Statistics Sweden) has computed the remaining years of life for Swedes. The results of the latest calculation is shown in the graph above.
The remaining years of life 2002 is essentially higher than the corresponding data computed from our ancestors born during the periods 1500-1700 and 1700-1900. The SCB-graph is valid for persons born in the twentieth century. The National Swedish Board of Health and Welfare claims that the improvement of medical treatment has, during the last years, contributed greatly to the increased remaining years of life. |
