3582. Mats Pålsson3582 Mats Pålsson, XII:1535. Born in 1609 in Finland. Mats died in Nordanåker, Edsele in 1678; he was 69. Occupation: Farmer, innkeeper, lay assessor and county sheriff. Residence: Nordanåker, Edsele.Sources: The ancestors of Skogsjö, number 910 Gothe, Finnkolonisationen, page 98 (Father 7164) In the parish of Edsele the Finns have only sporadically lived in the deserted village Hällingsås. Already in 1637 is here noted a Finn with the name Matts Pålsson. On the county council in 1642 is confirmed that he has moved to the deserted village and that he is free from taxes one year. Matts Pålson informs on the county court 1648 that he has been in Sweden 13 years, why he probably has moved to Hällingsås already in 1635. In the register of lands 1670 Matts Pålsson is noted under both Nordanåker with 15 1/2 seland (1 seland = about 3500 square metres) and Hällingsås with 4 1/2 seland. According to the map from 1694 by Werwing over Nordanåker it seems as if Hällingsås now belongs to Nordanåker. Johan Mattson seems to have succeeded his father according to the register of lands 1714 (Gothe) Mats married Sara Olofsdotter, XII:1536. They had the following children:
